3D X-ray & Imaging Facilities
Why do we take X-Rays?
Look for decay between teeth
Sometimes it cannot be seen with the naked eye
Check for bone loss
An X-ray can show the degree of bone loss
Check for decay under fillings
These hidden decays cannot be seen with the naked eye
Look for infection at the tip of the root
An X-ray can confirm if there is an infection near the bone
Examine the area before procedure
Allows dentists to examine and diagnose the are before treatment
Orthopanthomogram
Orthopanthomogram is a panoramic x-ray that display a two dimensional view of the upper and lower jaw from ear to ear. It shows the position and growth of the tooth particularly the ones that is erupted or not surfaced yet.
Lateral Cephalometric
A lateral cephalometric is an x-ray that displays the side view x-ray of the face. It demonstrates the bones and facial contours in profile and are usually taken for diagnosis and treatment of orthodontic problems.
Cone Beam CT Scan
Cone Beam CT Scans are a special type of x-rays that displays 3-dimensional images of teeth, soft tissues, bones and nerve pathways. These scans are commonly taken for treatment planning of complex cases such as placement of dental implants or examining bone structure.
